Personal Details-

Born on 2nd June 1963 ,in Mumbai.

Fathers name is Mr Janardhan C Updhaya,a senior advocate of Mumbai High court and veteran labour lawyer.

Mothers name is Mrs Sadhana Updhaya ,head of Marathi literature department in Wilson college Mumbai

Marital status: 

Ist marriage on 27th December 1991 with Monisha Patil D/o Vimla Patil, but couldn’t continue with her longer and divorced in 2005. He had a son and a daughter from his first wife.

Both the children are living with their mother in London.

He got second marriage with Smt Smita Gate, an IAS officer,MP cadre in 2009.When Nitish got married in 2009 with Smita she was already divorced.

In January 2022 Nitish Bharadwaj announced divorce from his 2nd wife after 12 years of marriage.They have twin daughters namely Divyani and Shivranjani, both the twin daughters are living in Indore with their mother.

1.He is one of the most recognised character of Indian television where he played an important role of Lord Krishna in B R Chopra epic television serial Mahabharata in the late 80s.The character of Lord Krishna made him overnight Star and people recognised him as God Krishna, wherever he went the people used to touch his feet.

2.He had middle-class upbringing in Mumbai.His father belong to a priest family and was an imminent lawyer.

3.His mother was very close to classical music and Marathi literature.She had own library at home which gave his son (Nitish ) opportunity to read lot of books and before getting the role of Lord Krishna,he had already read a lot of literature on Lord Krishna .

4.His mother demise had a traumatic effect on Nitish,when he was in school he got the opportunity to visit several film sets.He was inclined towards acting.

5.B R Chopra,Ravi Chopra,Pandit Narendra Sharma and dialogue writer were not happy with whoever they had chosen to play the role of Lord Krishna.Nitish also accepted that he is too young to play the role.But finally Nitish decided to play the role.B R Chopra told him if you fail I fail and called him and said “Beta bahut phone aye hai our negative Bol rate hai, ye Krishna to fail ho gaya”.In the last Nitish Succeeded in the Mahabahrata serial and got much popularity.After success of Mahabaharat many people from the corporate sector had even started offering him money to wear the costume of Lord Krishna,however he mostly declined such offers.

As per the matters  mentioned above it can be concluded that the famous actor did not get love in his real life and got pain from his both wives.

  2. He also said he has faith on marriage institution but he was unlucky in this matter.
  3. According to him there are only two reasons  to break the holy relation of husband and wife is -non compromising  Attitude and Ego.
  4. He believed that  when the marriage  breaks only children become sufferers.
